Black Sox TV is an independent new media effort that seeks out stories that will engage people in the ongoing dialogue of American sports history. While the name “Black Sox” is derived from the infamous World Series scandal of 1919, it’s symbolic of a larger dichotomy between sports history and the mythology of popular culture that often still permeates the narratives of our past.

At the heart of all of this, however, is the community of sports and history enthusiasts who will hopefully spend time here sharing opinions, arguing points, but most of all, helping us all gain a better collective understanding of the people and events in the annals of American sports history.

In the meantime, we figured the best place to start was with our namesake. We hope you enjoy the stories as much as we do.
